If you are taking any ‘blood thinning’ medications, please let the practitioner know, as they may represent a contra-indication to the treatment.

Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen or any other anti-inflammatory medications for one week prior to, and after your procedure. This includes unscheduled medications such as St John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, Omega supplements, Vitamin B or Vitamin E and any multivitamins that contain these vitamins or supplements. These will ‘thin the blood’ and cause increased bleeding during the procedure. If you have been prescribed blood thinning agents due to medical reasons please consult with your doctor prior to ceasing.

Wash your face at night and don’t apply any moisturisers for 12 hours.Please don’t wear any make-up for 24 hours.

After the treatment, you may experience some soreness and pain over the treated areas. Over the counter analgesic medication such as Paracetamol can be taken in case of discomfort. Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Voltaren, etc. for the first 7 days.

Mild swelling and bruising can occasionally occur and may be noticeable for a few days.

The treated area may be tender to touch. You might feel the suture underneath the skin as a result of the area being swollen/inflamed. This is normal and will improve over the first week and should be gone after 10 days.

Should you experience severe pain or swelling in the treated area/s, contact us immediately.

Expect 7-14 days for the skin to fully recover its natural aspect. However, you can resume most normal activities the next day.
